As Long As There Are Tests, There Will Be Prayer In Schools

A great idea for evangelism, no?  San Diego Anglicans treasurer, Clint Smith, over at St. Dunstans Episcopal Church volunteers as a tutor every week at his church, helping the high schoolers from across the street catch up on their higher math.  When was the last time a bunch of high schoolers walked into your church, asking for help?  Well done, Mr. Smith. Nice sign.

Bishop Atwood's Teaching on Evangelism at Holy Trinity Parish

The Rt. Rev. William (Bill) Atwood is in town this week to ordain seminarian David Alenskis to the deaconate and give workshops on Evangelism, Healing, and the Holy Spirit at each of the three local congregations currently under Archbishop Venables--Holy Trinity Parish Ocean Beach, Sts Timothy and Titus in Rancho Penasquitos, and Anglican Church of the Resurrection in San Marcos.   Bishop Atwood is chaplain to Archbishop Gregory Venables.   See Calendar for details on this week's workshops and ordination.

I was unable to attend the afternoon workshop on evangelism.  I arrived later for the evening session, just in time to witness throngs of Ocean Beach's homeless wrapping up a hearty dinner in Holy Trinity's fellowship hall.  (read more...)
