Video: First Sunday for Holy Spirit Anglican Church
A new year; a new Anglican congregation is born! January 3rd, 2010, Rev. David Montzingo, Rector, led approximately 150 people in a standing-room-only service at the Bethel Seminary chapel through the first-ever Sunday service of Holy Spirit Anglican Church, a new church located strategically near their mission field of choice: San Diego State University. The clergy and people of this congregation are well-known and well-loved brothers & sisters of San Diego Anglicans. I understand the church will be seeking affiliation with a TACNA diocese soon, most likely the Diocese of Western Anglicans.
I could only make it to half of this service as there were other exciting things happening up in North County this same morning involving Bishop John David Schofield and a new Anglican religious order (video forthcoming). This video clip includes a portion of Fr. Montzingo's sermon, however, outlining the vision & mission of this new body.
In addition to these video highlights, there are a few still photos in the San Diego Anglicans Flickr group which you might enjoy.
