Nate Henn, 25, killed in the terror attack Sunday in Uganda, was working for a San Diego-based Christian group that is trying to help the child soldiers and other young people in that violent country, according to the group's website.

King asked Netanyahu on the CNN host's Wednesday program, "You live in the center of a hostile world. Are you ever able to really relax?"

Netanyahu immediately referred to the Sabbath.

"It's a very good idea that this institution was brought into the world," he said, noting he takes an hour and a half each Saturday to read with his 15-year-old son.  (read more...)

July 4th Picnic in review

A group of San Diego Anglicans converged on Highland Park in the Carmel Mountain Ranch area on July 4th for a multi-church picnic. The grounds were covered with several canopies, most notably the extra-large one from Resurrection which took at least a dozen hysterically-laughing people to set up, but was worth it in the end! There was a Jumper for the "kids" which included, at various times during the afternoon, a gaggle of school-age girls (and one boy), some teenagers practicing their flips, a couple of die-hard "adults" who refuse to grow up, and one "senior" who wanted to check off a box on his "Bucket List".  (read more...)
