Just because I lean towards strong enforcement of existing border laws doesn't mean I'm blind to the very real, shared culpability in stories like last weekend's killings in Tijuana. Our border is only a small solution to a much larger problem of American demand for drugs. I did a little more searching on this news story after watching local T.V. coverage gloss over the fact that these Americans were likely cocaine traffickers or users and in debt to Mexican drug suppliers. As tragic as all this is, it tells an important story that our kids need to hear and understand. I don't typically swallow whatever the Mexican Police Dept. reports, but we all know their story makes way too much sense.
